I retired out of a fighter squadron last year. Between attached and assigned we had about 45 guys. Since that time at least 6 others have been hired at majors and I'd say at least half have apps in. Yes, they're leaving in droves. Yes, there are many who are in it for love of country but years of mismanagement and abusing those who serve is driving us all away. Call me jaded or just not as patriotic as the next, but AF aviation isn't what it was when I started. I left the first day I was eligible for retirement.
