Several reasons...
1. 737 is in pretty much every base, meaning you'll get out of EWR sooner.
2. 76T is a dying fleet with the 757's coming off line. The senior guys aren't going to bid off of it until they're bumped off... Meaning, it would be a long time to get out of EWR and/or get off reserve.
3. The 76T fleet covers all 3 airports in NYC. (320 and 737 cover EWR and LGA)
4. The fleet doesn't really pay any more since the few 767-300 trips will go senior. Those that do go junior, are unproductive. (757 pays same as 737 and 320)
