With that being said, getting back to the most recent topic of the L-XJT MEC making it clear they are in favor of SmartPref over Flightline. While this is 100% their call as we are still separate pilot groups with separate MEC's, can somebody please explain to me the huge resistance that L-XJT seems to have with Flightline? This was the issue that caused much of the delay in reaching the last TA, and it seems that it is going to happen again. I am a L-ASA FO and I don't have an issue with Flightline, but I'm very interested in learning why SmartPref is a much better system than Flightline and if SmartPref is worth a detailed look over by the ASA MEC and pilot group. For the record I am being 100% serious with the last sentence, not flame baiting in any way.
I'll try to explain it. The XJT MEC's position hasn't changed since the failed TA when it comes to PBS. All they did was reiterate that. The two MECs and the company have already agreed to the Process for Interim and Single PBS that was part of that TA. So as far as the XJT MEC is concerned, that's the way forward.
Does the ASA MEC now have a different position other than what was already agreed to by all three parties in the form of the Process for Interim and Single PBS in the TA? If they do, then it's them opening up the can of worms again.
