I think I'd be much more concerned about the fact that a face-to-face interview let someone like Biter slip through the cracks than I would be about any sort of phone interviews that were done.
If that were the case, United, Delta, American, FedEx ect... Would resort to phone interviews, right??? Not even close. There are mannerisms, eye contact, body language ect... That a phone interview simply can't convey. If phone interviews were effective at producing a quality individual, all mainline HR would conduct them...
