Foreign airlines can hire people from zero time and be operational in 300 or so hours, and this is the problem with allowing cabotage. Their candidates are younger, smarter, and work harder than Americans do because they are hungrier. In the USA we think we are a big deal, and historically we have been because we have been so rich for so long, but that is changing quickly. It will take years but we can never allow cabotage to be a reality.

If you look at the Asiana incident in SFO, there was a lot experience in the Flight Deck, why no one said anything & why the check airman kept quite, is beyond my understanding.
You don't have to worry about foreigners coming here to take the jobs done regional pilots in the US.
The US regional pilots are the worst paid as compared to pilots anywhere on this planet....
