Look on Craigslist and AirBNB for more options. With 50 a month through the summer the crash pad pool has shrunk considerably.
I ended up buying a cheap car and found a place about 4 miles from the airport. I had no luck within walking distance (at least for a private room which I wanted for training). Everybody was full and had a waiting list.
Hotel prices seems to be going up as well. Supply and demand I guess.
