United has a great pilot group and a great legacy. United new hires get 90 hours of pay in training, and hotel and perdiem in training. I'd like to see the other carriers follow suit to maintain parity in our profession and to help those with families and other obligations have a chance to recoup some of their lost wages in the transition. I think this person will be happy at UAL, just like the AA new hire will be happy at AA, just like the DAL new hire will be happy at DAL.
Did not mean to cast aspersions on 2 mountain or UAL, as far as I can see, he should be looking for a commuter crib as we speak.
