I'm been living on the cargo side for a while and it's been a long time since I've had to Jumpseat on a pax airline, so I have a question. My family is looking to fly a LCC from a small satellite airport to vacation destination airport to visit her sister. At this time, I'm not sure if I'll be going or not. I plan on buying them tickets. If I can go, would it be bad protocol to Jumpseat on a flight my family bought tickets and would I be expected to buy a ticket. Or would it be ok. Neither airport is a base so I doubt there is much Jumpseat traffic. If I get laughed at for being another cheap pilot trying to save a dollar, thats ok. I just don't want to get myself or anyone for jumpseating on a flight my family is on.
