I'll take a stab at it. I'm obviously a tanker guy but I've been in the planing phases of a related topic. usually after departure, they would be cleared to a certain area, divided up by sectors known as "kill boxes" getting from one kill box to another requires coordination and a clearance. obviously as a tanker guy, I follow them from box to box giving them gas. I know by now the fighter guys are spinning so call it a "container" in lieu of a box if you wish
