I live in northern Palm Beach county just south of Jupiter, about 85 miles to the parking lot.
I95 is a general PIA, some construction south of FLL. I take the Turnpike (parallels I95). It really isn't that bad. I plan 2:00 thru KCM line and might be 10 minutes late 2 trips a year. Perfect no-traffic conditions, 1:15 to the lot. average is 1:20-1:30 90% of time.

Two day trips for the month aren't bad. Turns are too much unless they are high time 12 day month or you have something going on at home. Turns out of FLL aren't bad from my house, it's about :50. They've had 15 day Haiti turns, early go but back at lunchtime. They have gone fairly junior at times. The PBI lines would be heaven. No traffic and 20 minutes from home. Won't hold that until those guys retire.

I stopped using TriRail when the MIA station construction started a few years ago. A shuttle bus to terminal can be 15 minutes in traffic and sometimes won't show up. Waiting in 95F in polyester lost it's appeal. The new MIA station will be great when it opens. Google Miami Central Station (MCS). I plan on TriRail alot when that happens.

It depends what your looking for in a place to live. I think there are at least 450-500 guys in Palm Beach County. Others live in the Keys, Naples, Fort Myers area, north of PBI from Stuart up to Vero/Melbourne and plenty of TPA and MCO commuters (that one has gotten bad).

The FLL area like most Boca and South is crowded. I also hope you like listening to how great the Jets/Yankees are because 6 out of 10 residents were born up there. 4 out of 10 won't understand you because they were born out of the country

Beaches and boating are crowded around there. West FLL will be 30+ mins and try to find parking once there. Schools? Don't know.

Northern Palm Beach County area is generally newer and less crowded. Beaches, boating and fishing are better. Prices are still the same although waterfront is slightly cheaper as you head north.

Schools? Private is 12$-15$ minimum. Public is can be very good if a kid wants to succeed. I have been very surprised at the quality of those teaching the tougher classes. On the flip side, if a kid wants to be a flunky and get babysat for 4 years of HS, they've got plenty of that. Have 1 in College (FSU), 1 new grad going to UF and 1 in HS. 2 went to Suncoast HS. It's national ranking runs from the single digits to the mid double digits. Very tough academic program and a few head to MIT/Harvard. FL colleges are also a great deal at moment.

The water around PBI is my favorite. I can pull reserve while grabbing some fresh Mahi 5 miles out in the Gulfstream.
