Or apparently someone that doesn't have one at all. I've been here 14 years, I knew that if I wanted to be at Delta Air Lines then I needed a degree. If they don't have one then they obviously didn't want to be here. The best pilots that I've flown with bar none were at a cargo airline that I flew for on furlough. When I got back to Delta and we started hiring I engaged the hiring department about exceptions to the 4 year degree requirement for some of these guys. The answer was absolutely not. So much for one standard.
The EtD is proof that management cares solely about costs, the only reason they hire the best is because they cost less.
The university I went to has had tuition jump over 800% since I graduated. There is no way I would recommend a pilot go to college at these prices. The fact that Delta or any airline requires a degree on top of the flight training expense is ridiculous.
