So all they have to do now is set that level 1 pilot below the actual reserve staffing. Now everything is 75% green by 1 pilot when going into DOT, which is compliant with the contract. DOT opens and as soon as 1 drop or swap goes through, its black or red again. And now we are all stuck again for the month.
Am I missing something or is this another huge loophole that a 4th grader could exploit if they were running staffing??
The arbitration was about the company changing the reserve staffing requirements after DOT opens, in order to make everything red. But if they simply make 75% green by 1 going into DOT, how does this really help anyone?
Its a joke, it really is. DFW has days of 18 FOs required for reserve coverage, we have 19 going into DOT, 1 drop and then BAM, its black and nothing can be done. 1 day has 2 FOs required for reserve in DFW. How do you have 18 required 1 day and then 2 the next? And if 2 is only required, why do we build schedules with 17 FOs having reserve that day? Those should not even have been built into the schedule if only 2 FOs are required per the company, make those days off on the schedule bid.
Also, *** do Red Eyes count on 2 days when 1 pilot will staff it? So 2 days are Red because of 1 trip? How does this even make sense? In order to drop 1 red eye on a Monday, you have to have a green day on Tuesday?
No doubt that the grid manipulation by management is nothing but punitive. And we wonder how PBS would be administered under this management regime...?
