It's hard to decipher their rhyme or reason. I know there are guys with what I think are more impressive resumes than mine still waiting for the call. But just because you or I think something is more competitive for a call doesn't mean Delta does.
I agree. I think their is more to it than a GPA but I think the GPA plays a large percentage of your total score in getting the interview. It took me 6 years to get my degree and I know a guy that does the interviews, told me that was a big red flag for DAL. They look at where you went to school, what degree you got in school, how long it took you to get the degree and your GPA. I know two civilians that recently got the interview and were hired, they both were not able to check any extra boxes for check airman or anything like that. They both are captains and have around 8,000 total hours. One of them went to UVU and and got a degree in aviation science in 4 years with a 3.9 GPA the other got his degree in 4 years from embry riddle and had a 3.7 GPA. So I think GPA and time to get your degree are factors in determining your score for that reason. Don't get me wrong these guys had other great things to get them the interview but so do a lot of other pilots so the degree seems to be the only thing that set them apart from all the other 8,000 TPIC guys.
