Oddly enough this isn't true. I can tell you at the regional I am at their are 1500 captains. I have been with the company for ten years and am about 1000 out of 3300 total pilots. Based on the guys that are sr to me I would bank that less than 20% have applied or want to move on. They have put in over 10 years and do not want to start over. They either haven't updated their logbook or are waiting to see what happens but almost every Fo that I fly with, has applied. I too would have thought that more captains would have applied but the reality is they have been too comfortable for too long at the regionals and now don't want to move on. I'm am only banking this info on the regional I am with so I don't really know about all the other regionals.
