Care to quote the part where it says in order to take Gateway Travel you must have a backup flight plus 10 hours of rest?
Answers for your homework:
10 hours of rest prior t a duty period- CBA 2.DD
Gateway Backup (Company interpretation) - CBA 6.A.6.f Gateway is owned by the Company and is extended to the crewmember. As such, they can do what they will to make it work in their system. To make sure a crewmember gets there in time for an operation, they can require a backup and use the whole day prior to shop for a fare.
Gateway Backup (Union position) - Union LEGAL agrees that backup is acceptable; NOT the ExCo and the rest of the committees that deal with this. However, any backup assigned must be the last flight of the day for the rest indicated above and the flight chosen for the crewmember travel must be the closest in time (not anytime that day or the day prior, cheapest fare, etc.) to that last flight of the day and must conform to CBA 6.A.6.a (Expeditious Travel).
I never signed a nondisclosure, so I am not the one with the problem here. Also, if I am jeopardizing a pension plan that is only being negotiated for your benefit and not the entire pilot group, then so be it.
And Solidarity happens when you have people working as a team. A great team can only form when one part of the group stops negotiating for their sole benefit.
You don't have to sign an NDA. You are bound by the IBT Constitution and the Local 1224 By-Laws as another referenced above.
It actually sounds like you are a divider and not a fan of uniting. Negotiation done by YOUR ExCo is not on their behalf, but for EVERYONE. If you want XCA pay, apply to become one. If you want to keep flying abusive PC's according to the App F list, and not advocating AQP and bringing "Atlas Training" into the modern age, fine don't vote for it when it comes out.
