At the core, most AE pilots realize that the LAX base closing and reallocation of flying to Skywest, and now Mesa, had nothing to do with the individual pilots at those airlines. However, when someone from one of those airlines posts a thread about how happy they are to be able to fly AE flying out of LAX - when there are maybe 150 pilots who used to be based there as original AE pilots, who are now forced to commute due to a base closure - it can easily come across as thoughtless and inconsiderate gloating. I think that this causes some to lash out.
Bunk!!! Bases open and close all the time - whether you like it or not -- it's the nature of the industry. And if you read the OP's post - you'll notice he's expressing a small degree of joy that Mesa guys forced to commute east can finally come back west. Lots were DISPLACED OUT OF THEIR LONG TIME BASE OF PHX. The same stuff you're crying about.
There isn't even a hint of gloating. You guys are hyper sensitive because you bought into the lie that you were special. And now that you're being treated like crap, the way your precious wholly owned ALWAYS felt about you, you're pi$$y.
