Lots of back and forth here. Reality is that Carl, gszg, sailiing, slow play , pineapple, alpha, etal's generation have done an extremely poor job at improving this Profession. Crazy thing is that WE( mid seniority thru new hires) continues to put up with their BS. We have the votes and if people from our ranks would run ( thank you ACL and NUGUY) we can begin the long road to repair the damage their generation has done.

One weird thing is the compliment to Nuguy. He's constantly posting about "talking to his rep", so any conversations where he's quoting his rep, and agreeing with his rep, and complimenting his rep, would be just plain creepy and manipulative. So we'll have to assume that the Nuguy that's on APC isn't a rep. In fact, out of respect for anyone's right to anonymity, let's not personalize this. But maybe we can agree that there is a generation that's in power, and sometimes the entire debate is hijacked by their attempts to settle who gets to be in charge?
We could make lists of who is good, and who is bad, and would undoubtedly disagree. But that would just duplicate their debate. Let's say instead that your point is well taken: the future belongs to the huge slug of people that's about to move up through the seniority list. Slug is probably a good description, because we're the generation that is mostly satisfied with posting about the people that are actually in charge. We'd like to think they're in charge because of old age and treachery beating out youth and skill. We'd like to, but it's just not true: they're in charge simply because they show up for meetings, and volunteer, in the real world, and we just don't participate.
Imagine if we did.
