July seniority list was put out today on the L-ASA side, I moved up 19 spots between June and July, and since January 2014 I've moved 86 spots in master seniority, as have most FO's hired after 7/2007. 86 spots after 6 full months (July attrition will be shown on the Aug 2014 seniority list) puts us on track to lose just over 170 pilots in 2014.
PURE SPECULATION on my side: The CRJ IAD operation has 166 pilots staffing the base, should it close and/or the flying cannot be renewed in 2015, those pilots will filter back into the system which wipes out the attrition gained in 2014.
Bad news=Should this occur all attrition gains in 2014 are wiped out and another year of literally moving nowhere hits all FO's and junior CA's.
Good news=Attrition in 2014 removes any need to furlough in 2015.
Just thinking out loud, this might be the reason why L-ASA is skittish to hire as the IAD flying as well as 2015 DAL flying/block hours are not 100% confirmed either way. Again, it's pure speculation...but the good news for now is that people are moving up faster now than they have been for 3+ years any many FO's stuck on RSV or flying weekend lines are seeing a slight QOL improvement (assuming you're not on the ATL CR7). Now, we just need some upgrades...
