You are not alone on this one Ferd. People are only enamored with profit sharing during years in which we are making profits. I much prefer the pay via other means, whether it's rates or a bump to the ADG or increased value of training days, etc. But that's just me.
Profit sharing is a gamble plain and simple. Profit sharing also does not compound. The last contract the 4 percent signing bonus combined with the 8.5 raise gave us 12.8 increase in hourly wages. Historically profit sharing has been a very bad gamble in the airline industry.
