New hires only? For example an FO on the 145 after 2 years wants to move to the 170, does he have to sign a 2 year agreement?

Presumably new hires in class will be awarded different equipment. Does 1/2 the class sign the document and the other 1/2 doesn't? Seems unusual.
Uh... Ok...

To all you potential new hires:

Typically when you accept a class you know already which airplane and certificate you will be on. But not always. They do bait and switch every once in a while. A whole class of YX 170 got told they would be on the Q400 instead. No one came back after lunch. Wouldn't put it past them to try the switcharoo again though.

If you accept a class here you better be happy on that airplane / certificate. You will NEVER be allowed to leave that airplane / certificate unless it is convenient to the company. There are only two ways in which you will get to leave your airplane / certificate.... Upgrade to CA (after 7 miserable years as an FO topped out at $36 an hour after 4 years) or if you get displaced as a result of a base closure (if the company needs you to go to a different airplane) or your airplane gets parked.

I don't understand why anyone would come here when every other regional pays more, treats you better, has shorter upgrade time, and no outstation bases which ruin quality of life for all.

I cannot overstate this. Republic is the worst airline in the entire world. Bryan Bedford is the worst airline manager in history. Avoid RAH like you avoid AIDS.
