Those 350 hour people go to the 747/A330,A340 and they sit with 15,000 hour Capts and learn.

British Airways puts 350 hour pilots straight into the right seat of 737 and A320. 5 man cockpit? Really? Must be a round-the-world flight. Most I've seen is 3, but I could imagine 4 on a very long haul flight.
I've always wondered about international crews, ultra long haul.
Can anyone shed light on these? I did Sydney-LAX once, slightly over 16 hours. Would something like that require 2+ crews, or are flight time/rest requirements different for international?
