I wouldn't be surprised if the fail rate has/will go up now that they are taking restricted ATP's, just because the test is different than what you are exposed to in the part 91 training world and is definitely slanted towards pilots with turbine aircraft experience.
I know someone who failed and they straight up said they didn't study enough as they didn't think it would be that hard. Retook 6 months later and passed with flying colors after studying for a few weeks. Also knowing how the university classes are I am willing to bet the restricteds are passing just fine as it's still fresh.
