Spread across the network that's true. But we had a dozen large narrowbody flights a day on one city pair, none of it DL metal, with up to half of the seats full of DL pax. And similar abuses on the west coast. That DL only put one or two on the tons of niche flying AS (mostly Horizon) do that watered down the average doesn't change that.
Its funny that to stay independent, AS has to get deeper in bed with AA. I think they bet on DL being unwilling to fight them on capacity. When DL didn't cave, AS upped the ante with SLC and their BA partnership. IMO AS was certain DL would buckle. That has proven to be a huge miscalculation.
