I was in the room in May 2008 when JA told us we would be in BK in 6 months. The fact is that even if we were in the verge of going over the edge, Skywest saw value in buying XJT before that might happen. Either that or they didn't want to risk another 2 years or more to see if it would happen because CAL/UAL wouldn't let their biggest feed dissolve in a bk anyway.
Thank you for saying this. So many XJT guys walk around like there was some magic success with branded flying and you guys weren't bleeding cash hand over fist.
It's doesn't matter a lot to line pilots I guess. We just come to work and do our job. It's just infuriating to hear people spreading, heck building, a myth of a healthy XJT.
