Just doesn't make long-term sense. I mean I guess you could say just to eek out a bit more in bonuses or stock options in the short- term, and I guess that flies. But really, the kind of thing that the OP posted are things that push you (your company) into dangerous waters going forward.
Just wondering aloud what the motivation could be.
P.S. Also a Delta guy and former regional guy. Tsquare most definitely does not speak for us all.
Greed.
That's it. Not to mention a fundamental hatred for labor (especially ORGANIZED labor). We are not considered assets. We are not viewed as the only thing that has prevented an event with catastrophic loss of life. We are not seen as the ones who keep the operation going in spite of the way the operation is structured. Nope, we are viewed as obstacles. Obstacles that get in the way of multi-million dollar dividends and stock buybacks for the largest shareholders (who just happen to be the ones running the company). The stock price is all that matters. Safety? Customer Service? Employee relations? Ha! Poppycock!
