Try going to the GM, or other senior mgr, at the hotel and negotiating a long term stay rate. I did that in my past life (Navy) and ended up in much nicer places at greatly reduced rates. I.e., including a 4 week stay at a very nice place with a balcony overlooking Monterey Bay.
I tried to do that and negotiate a group rate for my class. No luck. Ended up in my first crashpad... A lousy one. More are opening up now. If I had it to do again I'd probably split a room at the Staybridge. About $800 each with free breakfast, dinner 3x/wk, and a kitchen.
