I got hired in 2010 with a 2.9 from a party and football school. I am pretty sure I slipped through the cracks. Talking to the guys on my interview day I had by far the fewest hours. About 2500 in which 1000 was PIC.
My High School though was one of the best in the state and I had a 3.8 so maybe that's why I got hired.
I wouldn't even come close to getting the call to interview today. I was hired in 2000. Former Army Chopper pilot flying for NetJets. College took 11 years at night school on active duty. Graduated with a 3.4 from a university that was on post.
I don't think that a college degree makes you a better pilot, however I do think it shows that you wanted to be a Delta pilot since it's a hard requirement (other than for some special few)
