no actual medical exam anymore, unless youre referring to the MMPI and psych interview which is still happening. Also drug test but you accomplish that on your own either on day 2 or when you get home.
Its great to see people hired without TPIC. The breadth of experience is a good thing for all. In my class of 50 we had pretty much every background you could think of. They brought up a good point that those of us that were captains were probably captains for years, and transitioning to FO again is going to be an adjustment that some may find more challenging than they thought. I would venture to say those in my class who didn't have TPIC will adapt faster and perform well. Bottom line is everyone worked hard to be where theyre at, nothing was handed to anyone. And that includes the compass flows who had a very very difficult Northwest style interview flying a 727 sim among other things and went on to become experienced captains in the Delta system prior to coming over and bringing a wealth of experience with them, and essentially becoming leaders in our indoc class guiding the rest of us. Truly a great group all around and my respect for them grows by the day. After having met those in my class, from military to regional to flow to non-PIC to corporate to LCC and even a couple of us "freight dogs", all phenomenal people that deserve to be there.
