I am not bitter nor have I applied at JetBlue. It's on the wrong side of the country. However, I find it laughable that you think I'm egotistical when you believe that you have the ability to evaluate a pilot's ability based on a verbal interview that lasts less than an hour. How does that work? In a normal day to day conversation most people can figure out whether or not an individual is honest, decent, and morally sound. An interview is not a normal conversation, especially a pilot interview. It's stressful. Human beings handle stress very differently. Can you tell the difference between the pilot who is stressed or trying to give an evasive answer? I seriously doubt it.
I stand by my original statement, FAs have no business being present during a pilot interview. Pilot's do not work for FAs. This process undermines the chain of command required on an aircraft. Additionally, it devalues the position and I personally believe that is why the management at JetBlue instituted it. I look forward to your well researched response.
