vfr over the top class bravo
This thread got me thinking about Atlanta again, and the airspace around the town being so wonderful. One of my favorite things to do was to take off from Fulton County, ascend in a spiral up to 5,000 then ask approach for a "vfr over the top" clearance over ATL. If there is a better view of civilization than the view on that corridor I don't know one. You get to see the busiest airport in the world from a mile over it, you see downtown, see Stone Mountain, see Buckhead, see Turner Stadium, can see I-75/85 what a wonderful flight. And as if that is not enough, go back and do it again after dark. An experience like that is life affirming.
