Do you actually have to slide it back for one day into July? Can't you just expand your vacation to all those earlier trips, and not slide it at all, so you can slide it in August, if you want?
You have to slide first one day into the previous month (current bid month), then expand it until you are out of hours (90). I don't bid reserve when on vacation, but there a lot of guys who do in Memphis, there are definite advantages to that but it gives you less flexibility as a commuter like me. There are guys out there way smarter than me, but I've found this gets me the most bang for the buck (STS). As far as MU goes, your hands are tied a bit, you're right about that. But you can pick up some sweet trips during the first conflict window.
