In my mind its one thing to complain about the problems of being a regional airline pilot (we all do it, blowing off steam in these forums) but something completely different to pose a possible solution, get a few pilots to agree with your suggestion, and then maybe, just maybe be able to define a possible solution and way forward for those in power to latch on to.

I don't think that any pilots are in a position to "define a possible solution and way forward for those in power to latch on to".
I do believe with all my heart and soul that it is high time for all of us(professional pilots) to reverse the downward trend in pay and benefits once and for all! This "career" has deteriorated so much that there are no longer hordes of willing bodies to fill cockpits for the pitiful pay and benefits that are being offered.
Yet completely contrary to the laws of supply and demand, management is still somehow convinced that the answer is yet again to further reduce pay and benefits(while lining their own pockets with ever higher bonuses and pay)!
ENOUGH!
