Well I was very much a guardsman, and could have went to a State U if I wanted to. I didn't want to be part of the whole campus deal. I was married at 18, and wanted to work rather then go to school and make that my life 24/7. It worked well. I don't believe the military had anything to do with where I am today. I've consistently been asked why I choose online v. on campus, and I had a well thought out respond ready...none which included the military. That includes vet schools, which almost always choose from on campus students...co-ops, internships with sea world, and a job as a marine mammal trainer. Marine mammal training is the marine life equivalent to flying for UPS...many people want it, but it's very hard to come by.
Online degrees aren't always bad if you choose the right place for the right reasons. It worked for me, and many other people I know.
