I don't know the situation now, but back when Allegiant was a more desirable place to be, getting an interview was pretty tough. Good internal recommendations were required, and guys getting on were typically much more qualified than what's listed here for the Ameriflight program.
That might not be the case today, since AAY is working on their first contract, management is ****ed, and usually things get very dark before the dawn in this situation (just ask anyone that's been through the Spirit strike). But if the pilot group succeeds and the contract turns AAY into a decent place to be again, this agreement might actually be an alternative way for a low time guy to end up at a national airline without having to do the regional thing.
