I wouldn't tell a person to generally chase an upgrade. You have to evaluate your situation and make that decision. All I can do is speak from personal experience and how it's worked for me. If you are going to sit for another 5 years as an FO (that's you Endeavor) waiting to upgrade just because you don't want to start over at year 1 pay all while watching a good chunk of the other regionals upgrade a majority of their list during that same period you may star thinking you should have moved on to something better.
But like I said, I can't make a blanket statement that fits everyone's needs. If you can make it work and are willing to take a risk then I say do it. It's very risky but sometimes risk pays off in huge amounts.
