Not true. There's seven Config Warnings including the Parking Brake. In the previous example where ATC gives you an immediate takeoff clearance, you may rush through a checklist. Maybe you just de-iced and have the stab trim nose-up 15 degrees or forgot to set the flaps. Either way you'll be reminded of your error at 70% N1....hopefully you're not halfway down the runway when you reach that power setting.
Unless you are really slow at pushing the power up you should be at T/O power well before 60-80 knots, and you'll get a config warning far before you reach that speed, leaving eons of time and runway to do a slow reject. And before any of that I would hope that you have checked for a T/O Config OK green message?
