They said that the E 175 will come to SKYW and SKYW alone and that pilots will not be able to "transfer to the E175" and that they will try to bring the XJT airplanes offline in pace with attrition to "minimize the affect to our people." It's simple math, but I doubt that attrition can keep pace with the reduction of the ERJ fleet, I hope it does, but that is a lot of aircraft. Time for just about every FO on either side to get out ASAP as upgrading on either side, especially the ERJ side will not be occurring.

The only saving grace is if somehow E 175s are placed on the XJT side to replace the 145 or if RFPs with Delta are extended to reduce the amount of CRJ's leaving. It's pretty clear that either side has no reason to move forward with this merger based on the fleet reduction news alone.
