Or wonder what is going through his head before the 3rd of 4 legs for the day, while you text and surf FB. You think we don't notice, but the reality of 10k hrs of 121 experience means I know when you are gonna go pee before you do, by the little squirm you do before announcing that the vanilla latee and quart of water you drank in the first 45 minutes of the flight needs to be offloaded. So while you think the same checkride means that you are equal, think again, co-captain!
Are you your biggest fan? Do you go around telling people how important you are? I know plenty of Captains who don't know they are flying into weather until it shows up on MY MFD...not theirs because they are busy not caring. Maybe the FO is sitting there on FB because you are so busy thinking to yourself how awesome you are that you neglect to even try to include him in the decision making or perform even the slightest hint of mentoring.
Next time you sit there resenting your FO, just remember the countless times I've caught things wrong with the release, deferrals, or saved you from taking the wrong taxiway for the 5th time this trip. And no, for the umpteenth time, if you're cleared to a fix on the approach, you don't need to be told to join the localizer.
