Honestly, I can see where some of these captains are coming from. I feel like when I come in to do my job, I put forth regular effort. I don't screw around with my phone when there's work to be done, I've looked at the weather, I review the release and NOTAMS, I look through the can, and I have the attitude that whoever gets to the FMS first is the one to set it up. If that ends up being me for every leg, that's fine. Considering how much less work the CRJ is compared to the Bro, I'm usually glad to have the extra work to keep from being bored anyway.

So like I said, I feel this is really just basic stuff. But I'm often thanked by captains I fly with for doing such a good job and having a good attitude. I always really appreciate that, but it often leaves me wondering what the heck some of the other FOs are doing, when I feel like my basic efforts are met with praise? But then again, I'd say half the time I come out to a new airplane with crap everywhere, seat/seatbelts not re-adjusted, and a new page flipped over in the can for the AM crew, etc. So I have no doubt there are some real lumps in the right seat, and it goes without saying that they are likely entitled as well.
