Ideally I would agree with you... However that's not called negotiations. That's called demands and let's face it, regionals don't have any leverage. Especially the wholly owned. Despite the latest pay caps PSA took, our negotiations did a hell of a job on our contract. They took full advantage of the merger as they knew AA and Airways will not finalize their merger without a detailed cost prediction at PSA and PDT. So yeah they gave us SAP and few other loop holes that would've never passed in other regional's negotiations as proven by the latest TAs that were offered to republic, compass, xjt, silver or eagle. Our leverage was that AA will save billions the earlier they merge. And taking a loss on our negotiations is like a fart in the wind compared to their overall costs. But they've outsmarted us as always by coming back RIGHT after the merger trying to threaten to shut us down if we don't take the pay caps. It wasn't an empty threat as illustrated by the recent events at eagle. I guess only time will tell.
