They took full advantage of the merger as they knew AA and Airways will not finalize their merger without a detailed cost prediction at PSA and PDT. So yeah they gave us SAP and few other loop holes that would've never passed in other regional's negotiations as proven by the latest TAs that were offered to republic, compass, xjt, silver or eagle. Our leverage was that AA will save billions the earlier they merge. And taking a loss on our negotiations is like a fart in the wind compared to their overall costs. But they've outsmarted us as always by coming back RIGHT after the merger trying to threaten to shut us down if we don't take the pay caps. It wasn't an empty threat as illustrated by the recent events at eagle. I guess only time will tell.
If regionals have no leverage, why has the company come back to us four times already after claiming at each stage that they would not return? Why did Glass walk into the room the other day and ask our negotiators what it would take to make a deal? Your heads are buried in the sand...
