The addition of bases further dilutes pairings. If you have a moment to speak with some of the scheduling folks the education is worth it. Many times the addition of these bases,focus cities means a draw back in others. The proximity of DCA and the stage length of originating flights will not always exceed the daily average; ergo, non-commutable 10 hour two days and 15 hour rigged 3 days.
I think the largest population of commuting crew lives in the dca/iad/bwi area so most would want. But it's a HUGE if and the rumor has been around for a long time.
