mbm, i think the airlines would LIKE to have that most qualified candidate for the job, heck, they'd like to have 10 qualified candidates for one job. Currently they have tons of candidates, that previously wouldn't qualify for tons of jobs and are having trouble filling them.
If a person has 2200 hours, a thousand or more instructing, and no recent mutli they would probably get the job too, but while they're stick and rudder skills may be ok, they may have a hard time keeping up with the airplane.
Fly the fastest and most complex airplane you can, as often as possible, and that should help a person trying to get into the regional biz, or atleast successfully complete training.
