You're right: economics is the key here. We may not ever get to those legacy/national airlines if scope/pay is further eroded. If we continually voluntarily agree to cheaper "regional" pilot costs, we will ensure the C-scale "regional" model is perpetuated. Economics may erode our profession, but I will not voluntarily aid in the demise of our profession and pay.
