Have you ever seen the results of an actual PRIA request. I have seen what our company sends. And it does NOT include "problems with the CPO and training department". It includes the minimum requirements. Suspensions, terminations, employment dates, training failures, etc.

FAA FOIA requests for copies of 3rd party records.

A Background Authorization that includes requests from previous employers, schools, police departments, financial institutions, and all other persons.

Previous Employers Records from Public Law 104-264. Title V-Pilot Record Sharing page 3260. I'll summarize but it includes any release from employment, resignation, termination, or disqualification. Disciplinary action not overturned. Training, qualification and competence including comments and evaluations by a check airman.

Of course this information is requested with authorization of the potential employee (you). Your assumption that they can arbitrarily pull this information is correct, but your assumption that they only can gain PRIA information is incorrect.
None of which includes who is a "problem child with the chief pilots". Attendance letters aren't included. Verbal or written warnings aren't included. Only the minimum required PRIA stuff is included.

Your comment that anyone who works at a DCI carrier has their entire employment record leaked to DAL was idiotic. Just admit it. As for DR, that was long before PRIA, and we were wholly owned. Much more liability these days. DAL doesn't do that anymore. Hasn't for many years. The most obtrusive they can get is forcing you to sign a form releasing your attendance records. I'm friends with every single chief pilot, and most of Flight Ops management. I assure you, they are not getting calls from DAL looking for dirt on applicants.
