To the op, the short answer is "Yes", you can still get a job at a regional, and that can still be a good job. The longer answer is that it will take you some time, and probably some money. You have owned your mistakes, which is a step in the right direction. You will have to distance yourself from them for a number of years, how many is anyones guess, and you will have to have a solid explanation for what happened, how it happened, what you have done to remedy that behavior, and the safeguards you have in place to ensure that behavior doesn't recur. As others have said, the medical is first. You will not be able to go to Canada for a long time, but that isn't a deal killer for all regionals. For that matter, we have guys who have gotten DUI's after being employed here, and after they took care of their issues, continued to fly here but had to decline Canadian assignments. One of them apparently was hired by an LCC recently.
Congrats on your recovery. I hope you are able to achieve a cockpit position again. If I can help, please PM.
