Standbys from a later flight show up as a 4 digit code not a HK. A HK is simply a confirmed passenger without a specific seat assigned. If you make a reservation and don't pick a seat you will show up on the standby list as a HK once you check in at the airport. They should however be reflected in the availability list when checking flights unless they are miss connects.
