Finished the entire thread but still have a couple questions. I will probably be commuting from SAT for at least a year. Assuming I'm on an -88, any guestimate how long I'll be on reserve, and if trips on the -88 out of ATL are commutable from SAT?

SAT is not a easy commute. Jumpseats go fast. Plan ahead and be proactive with weather. You should be able to get some SAT layovers on the 88 which can take some sting out of commuting. Plan on going the night before often.
