Or at the very least, send out a letter to all of us apologizing for his catastrophic blunder....
Exactly right. If he was misrepresented by the article, one would think he would be pulling out all the stops to correct the record. Those quotes were highly damaging. The fact that Moak claims to have been misquoted demonstrates that he now at least somewhat acknowledges the problem with the quotes.
Here's the part that troubles me the most about the whole thing. I agree that Moak doesn't negotiate for us. I think those quotes, coming from the ALPA President, are extremely hurtful to our effort... but it's not as direct an impact as if our reps and negotiators believed and said the same thing.
So... with that in mind... I wrote my reps last week as soon as I read the Bloomberg story. I gave them my input that I think Moak should be recalled ASAP. Whether he is directly representing us or negotiating for us is irrelevant. He's out there saying things that are damaging to our effort to restore our profession and our careers. AND with C2015 right around the corner!
Do you think my reps made the argument that Moak didn't really say or mean those things? Heck no! Their argument was that there is nothing wrong with what he said!

That's MY REPS... the guys who are directly representing me... saying THEY AGREE with what he said and they think it was smart. All I can say is wow.

Unbelievably disappointing. No... strike that. Completely believably disappointing.
Ladies and gentlemen.... What you see is what you get. What Moak said in that Bloomberg article is basically what I predict you will see from DALPA in 2015. It's consistent with his past actions and messages. It's consistent with the philosophy of the majority of our MEC over the past decade and currently.
