I'm not disagreeing with anything you've said here. But if you were actually an interviewer, it would have been more useful if you had said something to the effect of "at the company I do interviews for, 3 DUI's is a guaranteed deal-breaker." If you don't divulge the position from which you speak, it becomes increasingly difficult for others to know how to value your opinion.
